On December 1, 2024, Eiffel Projects will implement a new HR system: AFAS. The switch from the old system, Dynamics, to AFAS means a fundamental change in the HR back office and associated work processes. With attention, vision and a people-oriented approach, Eiffel Projects has shown that innovation and people orientation go hand in hand.
Moving from Dynamics to AFAS brings challenges, but at the same time offers opportunities for growth and improvement. It is essential that HR migrate all data accurately and completely to ensure process continuity. In addition, the transition requires a review of work processes and clear, step-by-step guidance for employees. By approaching this transition as a joint voyage of discovery, we create support and encourage acceptance. We believe in an energetic and inspiring approach in which everyone involved feels supported and heard.
As HR Officer, I played a coordinating and supporting role in this change. With a curious and people-oriented attitude, I was available to employees and performance managers to answer questions and resolve uncertainties. I performed accurate data checks to ensure the quality and accuracy of the migration. In addition, I rewrote and optimized manuals so that everyone could work with the new system in an accessible way.
Through proactive and transparent communication, my colleagues and I ensured a smooth start. The first week after implementation was all about intensive support and discovering the new possibilities together. In this way, we created a positive and energetic atmosphere in which employees could start working with AFAS with confidence and enthusiasm.
These four months showed me that change requires flexibility, perseverance and a visionary outlook. Mastering two different HR systems in a short period of time was challenging, but my inquisitive attitude and structured approach made this a valuable experience.
A key lesson was recognizing my role as a guide for employees. Because I worked with the new system daily, it quickly became familiar to me. But, of course, that does not necessarily apply to others who do not work with it daily. It required patience, clear explanations and a customized approach to bring employees along with the change. That’s how I came to realize that HR is not just a questioner, but a strategic partner who builds bridges between employees, systems and application experts.
