Boomerang Interview with Iris Rusman<\/strong><\/h1>

They left, grew, and came back: these are the stories of our boomerangs.<\/em><\/p>

For <\/span><\/span>Iris <\/span>Rusman<\/span><\/span> felt<\/span> it <\/span>as<\/span> a<\/span> natural<\/span> step<\/span> to <\/span>return<\/span> to<\/span> return<\/span> to<\/span> Rvdb. \u201cI <\/span>have<\/span> ever <\/span>ever<\/span> my<\/span> career<\/span> really<\/span> shaped<\/span>. It is <\/span>a<\/span> place<\/span> where<\/span> you <\/span>quickly<\/span> is growing<\/span>, <\/span>a lot<\/span> teaches<\/span> and<\/span> in which<\/span> people<\/span> sincerely<\/span> in you <\/span>interested<\/span> its<\/span>. <\/span>Then<\/span> I<\/span> heard<\/span> about the <\/span>new<\/span> design<\/span> of the senior IP-<\/span>program<\/span>, <\/span>knew<\/span> I<\/span> right away<\/span>: <\/span>this<\/span> fits <\/span>at<\/span> the <\/span>phase<\/span> where<\/span> I<\/span> “I’m in it now.”<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/p>

Iris joined Rvdb in late 2018, shortly after completing her master\u2019s degree and an internship at the housing authority Stadgenoot. \u201cMy younger sister had told me about Rvdb: \u2018That\u2019s really right up your alley.\u2019 She was right. I thought it was a plus that you get to get to know so many different organizations in such a short time.\u201d <\/span> <\/span><\/p>

Her first assignment got off to a good start even before the onboarding week was fully over. \u201cEveryone said it would surely be difficult to find a new assignment in December, but I was able to get started right away.\u201d After a few great assignments, she landed a job in 2020 at the <\/span>IJsselland Hospital<\/span><\/b>, where she started as a junior HR advisor\u2014and almost immediately ended up on the crisis team.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>

\u201cThat was an intense but incredibly educational time. I was just starting my career as a business partner and had the opportunity to truly help shape the HR transition. In a hospital, you really notice how committed people are to one another. I learned to stand my ground, collaborate with doctors and lawyers, and get to know the HR field from every angle.\u201d<\/span> <\/span><\/p>

After two <\/span>years<\/span> it began<\/span> it <\/span>at<\/span> Iris <\/span>to<\/span> feel<\/span>. \u201cI <\/span>would<\/span> really<\/span> move<\/span> exercise<\/span>, <\/span>shift<\/span> shift<\/span>, <\/span>shorter<\/span> lines<\/span>. A <\/span>hospital<\/span> is <\/span>a<\/span> wonderful<\/span>, but <\/span>also<\/span> cumbersome<\/span> organization<\/span>.\u201d She <\/span>made<\/span> the <\/span>made<\/span> to<\/span> <\/span>O My Bag<\/span><\/span>, <\/span>back then<\/span> a<\/span> fast-growing<\/span> sustainable<\/span> fashion startup. \u201cI was the <\/span>first<\/span> permanent<\/span> HR professional<\/span>, in <\/span>a<\/span> team of <\/span>seventeen<\/span>. I <\/span>have<\/span> the basics <\/span>placed<\/span>: <\/span>structure<\/span>, <\/span>processes<\/span>, <\/span>growth<\/span> of 17 <\/span>to<\/span> 40 <\/span>employees<\/span> \u2014 <\/span>and<\/span> a<\/span> substantial<\/span> recruitment task<\/span>. Great <\/span>informative<\/span>, but <\/span>I<\/span> missed<\/span> did<\/span> the back-and-forth <\/span>and<\/span> the <\/span>development environment<\/span> that <\/span>I<\/span> at<\/span> Rvdb <\/span>was<\/span> .\u201d<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/p>

Then <\/span>Ilse<\/span><\/b> When I called her after five or six years to grab a cup of coffee, the seed was quickly planted. \u201cShe told me about Rvdb\u2019s new structure, with a greater focus on senior professionals, customized development, and collaboration between offices. That really appealed to me. I immediately thought: if I\u2019m ever going to go back, now is the time.\u201d <\/span> <\/span><\/p>

The return felt familiar. \u201cI saw old acquaintances again\u2014the trainers, even a few people from my old peer support group. It really felt like coming home.\u201d Still, she also noticed some changes. \u201cLunches used to be one big hustle and bustle; now they\u2019re a bit calmer. What I really appreciate, though, is that people listen to us much more attentively. Communication is more personal\u2014via WhatsApp, short updates, \u2018reading with love.\u2019 That helps you stay well connected.\u201d <\/span> <\/span><\/p>

The <\/span>School of HX<\/span><\/b> She calls it a valuable innovation. \u201cIt offers more choice and depth, so you can decide for yourself what suits your stage of development. That aligns well with the diversity at Rvdb today.\u201d <\/span> <\/span> <\/span><\/p>

The decision to return turned out to be exactly the right one. \u201cI\u2019ve been given plenty of opportunities for growth again, both professionally and personally. The groups where knowledge sharing and coaching take place energize me. You don\u2019t just learn from your assignments, but also from each other. That social circle of HR professionals is so valuable\u2014a community where everyone helps each other grow.\u201d <\/span> <\/span><\/p>

Returning to Rvdb wasn\u2019t a step backward for Iris\u2014it was actually a step forward. \u201cI\u2019ve learned a lot outside of Rvdb, but here I feel that combination of learning, sharing, and growing again. And that\u2019s exactly what continues to make Rvdb so special.\u201d <\/span> <\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t
