Every year, our team talks to thousands of HRM people, and we would like to serve as a turning point in their careers. We want people to feel that a conversation with us is fruitful; that they have been challenged at an intellectual level and that we have recognised and acknowledged, or even discovered their talents. Even if people are not accepted for a specific job or assignment, we would like to know what motivates them and what their talents are. Because at some point, we will undoubtedly be able to help them.
It goes without saying that we know our HR network as well as the HR professionals’ career needs and qualities through and through. We are aware of pressing themes that our customers are dealing with and we know what is currently happening, what will be relevant in the (near) future, what training HRM people need, and how we should handle the wide range of HRM issues that customers bring to us. That is a matter of course.
In addition, we develop talent. That is what sets us apart from other HR agencies - and, more importantly, it is what ultimately makes both the customer and us happy. Indeed, it also determines our own happiness; not only because being good at your job and helping other people are luck-determining factors, but also because there is no wall around us. Together, customers, candidates, and RvdB are part of the same HR world, and they are moving freely in it. That is why our contacts decide to come work for us and we work at or for their organisations - sometimes as consultants, which is a rather external position, and other times as temporary secondees that are part of the client’s organisation. We aim to be the connecting factor that serves as a basis from which this branch evolves - and especially from which people in this branch develop themselves. In our services, collaborating and doing business are the same.
In our view, developing talent is a natural element of HRM. After all, people are at their best when they can develop their talents. As circumstances and people change, talent development will remain important throughout life. We ensure that the HR professionals whom we work with always continue to grow, so they can come into their own - regardless of their level, expertise, or role. Although we fill in short-term positions by matching our colleagues to those customers who need their specific skills at that specific moment in time, we simultaneously have an explicit long-term focus, as we follow our contacts throughout their careers and help them where possible.
Every year, our team talks to thousands of HRM people, and we would like to serve as a turning point in their careers. That is the basis of each conversation we have. Obviously, we cannot provide thousands of people with a job, assignment, project, or training course - at least, not in the short term. But even if people are not accepted for a specific job or assignment, we would like to know what motivates them and what their talents are. Because at some point, we will undoubtedly be able to help them. We want people to feel that a conversation with us is fruitful; that they have been challenged at an intellectual level and that we have recognised and acknowledged, or even discovered their talents. Loyalty and quality are the result, and all parties will benefit from these aspects. We stick together, knowing that there’s a right person for every position and vice versa. Incidentally, this requires an investment that is not always easy to explain. For example, people want to know why they need to pay a certain fee if we can select the right person within a few days. It is important to realise that it didn’t take us two days to find this person; we have spent years devoting careful attention to our network, maintaining contact with all these nice, interesting people in our branch. That is a very labour-intensive endeavour.
We collaborate closely, and we always have lunch at the kitchen table together. Not only because we like it, but also because for years, it has turned out to work great. A colleague who passes on the butter may just pass on the name of the right person for a specific job or assignment that another colleague is recruiting for. Together, we know everyone - not only because we can effectively provide professional advice, but also because we can maintain contacts on an ongoing basis. We are versatile and can switch gears quickly. We like to help others and we gladly accept their help, too - inside and outside RvdB. We have positioned ourselves as the linchpin in this branch, and each of us is independently and actively on the lookout for new contacts, new talents, and new opportunities.
We believe that part of our core task is to give people a chance and make sure that they seize the opportunities that we offer them. We like to convey that people can often do more than they think, especially if they have thought about what they want and who they are. And we can assist them in achieving this.
